Q&A
WHAT IS MOTORMONK?
MotorMonk is an online platform where mechanically-inclined minds post interactive "How-To"s specific to make and model. Did you recently upgrade the turbo of your WRX? Want to show how to do an oil change on your Civic? Don't be shy: share your experience!
WHY DID YOU START MOTORMONK?
MotorMonk grew out of Andrew frustrations with rising car expenses and the internet's lack of relevant, well-written DIYs.
We knew the content was available, but hard to find due to the fragmentation of online car communities. So, in 2010 we began to bridge the gap by creating an organized source where community-created DIYs become accessible and centralized (did we mention this is all free?).
WHAT DOES DIY MEAN?
Do it Yourself!
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?!
Getting started is so easy, even a (grease) monkey could do it!
Just sign up and submit your first DIY or Community Blog post . Take the video tour to explore all the features MotorMonk has to offer.
DUDE, WHERE IS MY CAR?
Right now, MotorMonk is focused on providing model-specific DIY for the tuner community. That will quickly change if we ge traction! Once we've accomplished that goal, we will begin to expand to every car sold in the US. To search our DIYs for your make and model, visit (ENTER LINK HERE)
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE DIY I'M WORKING ON! WHO CAN HELP ME FIGURE THIS THING OUT?!
Check out the "HELP!" forum. Our community of experts are always eager to jump in with some guidance and help you sort things out. Your questions and feedback help us improve the DIYs, and create discussion pages that might just help another user like you down the "road."
I THOUGHT THIS WAS A DIY SITE, WHAT'S WITH THE COMMUNITY BLOGS?
In addition to creating a DIY space, we also provide blogs where users can show feature cars, events they've attended, or anything else they want. The community blog is entirely dedicated to what you're up to - as long as it's car-related and awesome. Don't worry--it's not bragging if it's encouraged!

DOES MOTORMONK MAKE MONEY?
Not yet, as all our services are free.
I HAVE A MEMBERSHIP, BUT I WANT TO BE MORE INVOLVED!
That's the spirit! The best place to start is by posting your own DIYs and creating a community blog. To get even more involved, you may e-mail the founder, Andrew (<--ADD EMAIL LINK), directly. The site is always expanding, and there's plenty of opportunity.
THERE IS A RED CIRCLE WITH THE WORD NOTIFICATION ON TOP – WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!
It means there is some activity around your profile. Someone had sent you a message, requested you as a friend, or commented on your DIY or Community Blog Post. Look at you, Mr. or Mrs. Popular!
I HAVE A QUESTION, BUT IT'S NOT LISTED. WHERE CAN I ASK?!
E-mail us directly. We'll answer it as soon as possible, and maybe add it to this Q & A page. (With any and all vulgarities omitted. Sorry!)
